Hard Choices but Excellent News

Hey Folks,
Last month, I made the decision to take a month-long sabbatical from game design work to settle my living situation in PA and take a much-needed mental health break. During this time, I struggled with how to best wrap up Nevermore while balancing my day job (with Green Ronin Publishing) and dealing with my newfound familial responsibilities. The conclusion I drew was that I needed to hire someone else to complete the layout. To that end, I have hired the good folks at Sigil Entertainment Group to wrap this up ASAP. They will start the project on or before October 16th, and it should take them about a month to complete. After that, a couple of weeks of proofreading will be spent, and then the PDFs will be ready to go, after which they will be sent to printing.
Given the current chaos, I'm not sure how long that will take. I will be speaking with printers over the next week or so, and I will provide you with an update as soon as I have some information. I will also be sticking to my commitment to print in the USA, which avoids some issues but raises others. Wish me luck!
I probably should have come to this conclusion back in December (when I realized I was moving), but I really had no idea how difficult this transition was going to be. I regret not being able to complete the layout myself, but I still learned a lot. This whole process has been a series of hard lessons.
Thanks once more for your support. There's light at the end of the tunnel!

Nevermore - June Update

Hey Folks,
This is going to be a short update since I just posted a couple weeks ago, but I wanted to keep my promise to give an update at the beginning of every month.
My final pass is coming along well and I'm hoping to hand it off for further review sometime next week. It's been really good to dive back in, and a short visit to Baltimore this past weekend definitely revived my excitement and kindled my inspiration. I can't wait to get the core book finished so that I can tackle the adventures that are part of the stretch goals.
Like I said, this is short update. I'll be back arond the beginning of July and with a little bit of luck the process will be further along. Thank you for hanging in there with me!
Stay Safe!

Hey Folks!
I know its been a while. As I mentioned in my last post I had a lot of personal stuff going on and I had to hit the pause button. The good news is that things have settled down and I am able to get back to work ad wrap up Nevermore ASAP.
So, whats the timeline?
I need approximately another 3 weeks to clean up and review the layout for the core book. After that, I'm having another developer with more experience in layout give it a once over. (I expect that could take 3-4 weeks.) Finally, I have to get the book proofed. (Probably another 2-3 weeks.) So, we're looking at the PDF being ready sometime toward the end of July.
I wan to thank all of you for your patience. I know this has taken a LOT longer than I had stated and I feel terrible about that. I made some rookie mistakes and life hit me pretty hard. I just hope the wait is worth it.
From this point on, expect an update on or around the 1st of every month.
Take care everyone!

Nevermore - February Update

Hey Folks~
I wish I had more to offer you this month, but January has been a month of personal and family illness crisis. Everyone is fine now, but it was a rough month. My wife and I are also in the process of moving up to Pennsylvania to help out family there. I'm going to miss my friends here in the Atlanta area, but it will also be nice to be able to see friends and family up north again. I've also been hard at work on the new edition of The Expanse RPG for Green Ronin Publishing. They pay my bills, so work has to be my priority.
All this is to say that I have made almost no forward progress on Nevermore this month. We're currently planning to make the move around the end of February, so as soon as we get settled in, I'll be able to dive back in and wrap up Nevermore.
Finally, I want to say to all of you who are immigrants, trans, POC, and others who are being placed in danger by our current government, my thoughts are with you, and I'm here if you need me. I will do what I can. Difficult times are ahead for all of us. We need to stick together. Take care and be safe.
